Email Templates

There are numerous email templates that are sent out when something happens on the site such as registering, running a listing etc.  The content of these email messages is controlled by email templates that you can update via the backoffice.  See backoffice menu item: Content/Reference - Email Templates.

The templates displayed here will depend on the edition(s) you have installed.  If you have multiple editions installed, you can view templates for a specific edition by selecting the edition from the dropdown at the top of the screen.  To see all templates used in your website, select All Editions.

You can edit the message in these templates if needed.  Click the Edit link to open a template.  You will see the template name and a description of what the email template does. If you would like to receive a copy of the email message when it is sent, you can enter an email address in the BCC1 or BCC2 field.  You can edit the text in the body of the email template if needed.

Substitution Tags - There are substitution tags included in the email templates such as [FIRSTNAME], [LASTNAME], etc.  When the site creates an email message it automatically finds matching content from your database such as a person’s first and last name and replaces the tags with that data.

IMPORTANT: do NOT delete substitution tags in the email templates.  Supported tags for each template are shown on the edit screen.

You can add a logo to your email templates.  Click the Insert Image button in the html editor toolbar located at the top right.

A pop-up screen will open.  Click the Upload button to locate the logo file on your computer. The logo will appear in the window to confirm is uploaded successfully.  Click the Insert button to insert the logo image into the text of the email template.

Click the Update Record button at the bottom of the screen to save the changes.
